Portrait Commission Terms:
Pet Portraits for Compassion are custom, hand-created artworks by artist Elizabeth Wheeler in support of Tails Beyond Borders Foundation.
Each portrait is hand-drawn in ink from photograph(s) provided by the purchaser. Portraits are artistic interpretations in the artist's unique style and are not exact photographic reproductions. Reasonable variations in composition, style, and detail do not constitute defects.
Purchasers must provide clear reference photographs that they own or have permission to use. After purchase, please email the photograph(s) to orders@tailsbeyondborders.org with your order number. Work cannot begin until the photographs are received.
Only four commissions are accepted per month. Estimated completion time is 4–8 weeks or longer depending on artist availability, order volume, holidays, shipping conditions, or circumstances beyond our control.
One reasonable minor revision may be accommodated at the artist's discretion at no additional charge. Additional revisions, significant redesigns, changes of subject, or replacement photographs after work begins may require an additional fee or may not be possible.
Shipping
Standard U.S. shipping is $5.99 per order, with free standard shipping on orders of $50 or more. Shipping is available only within the 48 contiguous United States and the District of Columbia. We do not currently ship to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories or possessions, APO/FPO/DPO or other Armed Forces addresses, or international destinations.
Returns & Cancellations
Orders may be canceled for a full refund before work begins. Once work has begun, custom portraits are non-cancelable, non-returnable, and non-refundable, except where otherwise required by law. Damaged, defective, or materially incorrect orders are handled under our general Return & Refund Policy.
Rights & Other Terms
Tails Beyond Borders Foundation may decline or cancel unlawful, abusive, inappropriate, or mission-inconsistent commission requests.
Unless the purchaser requests otherwise in writing before completion, Tails Beyond Borders Foundation and the artist may display the completed portrait for portfolio, educational, promotional, or fundraising purposes.
The purchaser represents that they own or have permission to use submitted photographs. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, copyright in the artwork remains with the artist; the purchaser owns the physical artwork and may use images of it for personal, non-commercial purposes.
Net proceeds support Tails Beyond Borders Foundation's charitable mission and programs. Because the purchaser receives a portrait in exchange for payment, all or part of the purchase price may not be tax-deductible.
By purchasing a portrait, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms.
